The Discover Program
Discover Program provides opportunities for transitional aged youth, ages 18 to 21, who are enrolled in the General Mental Health/Substance Abuse program. The Discover Program is intended to assist individuals in their search to discover and reach their full potential. The wide array of supports offered include: peer mentoring, job success skills, educational opportunities, social interaction, family and motivation. This opportunity helps the individual learn through experience by engaging them in an environment that helps in making independent decisions for their pathway in life. The program acknowledges and incorporates support systems that will benefit the individual’s success. Many different types of supports may be needed as the Discover Program identifies strengths, gifts and needs. Once these are identified, the program helps to break down barriers thus empowering the individual. Services are provided by Behavioral Health Technicians, Behavioral Health Paraprofessionals and Recovery Coaches, in coordination with the person’s clinical team and those the individual chooses.
